Education is still the great equalizer in the world. Without it, most doors to the world are closed. An orphan in a country still recovering from the lingering impact of a brutal civil war, Troken gives us hope and we want to return the favor.

Not bitter, but full of energy, kindness, and a zeal to learn, Troken wants to continue his education and we can make that happen.

Before he moved to his new orphanage in 2010, Troken was living in a bombed-out building that used to be a radio station. During the war, it was an IDP camp. The infrastructure was falling apart, the kids were exposed to the elements & food was scarce. The children were often ill, Trokon included.

Thankfully, he's now living in a new building that he is proud to call "home." He finally feels free to dream about his future.

He says he will graduate from college with 3 degrees—Medical Doctor, Theologian & Geologist. He says he hopes to study his degrees in Africa and stay in Liberia to help his people. He says Liberia is the home of freedom and liberty, and he has high hopes of making a positive impact on his beloved county.
